Participating Countries

Six Founder Countries are providing a grounded basis for the project. These are Australia, Finland, Portugal, Singapore, the UK, and USA.  The countries were selected on the basis of national education quality, technological advancement particularly in education, geographic and cultural balance, and experience in international cooperation in education. Each has:

• a seat on the Executive Board
• a Technical Adviser/National Project Manager to contribute to the development of the project
• a commitment to use new assessment methods in some national data collection by 2014
• an obligation to contribute to a fund from which additional work can be supported with the approval of the Executive Board.
